When do refunds happen?
Automatically — when an owner declines, you cancel, or check-out completes.
Refunds run automatically in these cases:
- The owner declines your request → full refund within 3-5 business days
- You cancel a pending rental (before check-in) → full refund
- The check-in deadline passes without owner approval → full refund
- A rental completes successfully → security deposit (only) is refunded
- A dispute resolves in your favor → the resolved amount is refunded
You'll always get an email when a refund is initiated. The actual time it appears on your statement depends on your bank — usually 3-5 business days, occasionally up to 10.
