Why do I need to verify my identity?
One-time Stripe Identity check before your first booking.
Before your first rental, we run you through Stripe Identity — a quick selfie + government ID check that takes about a minute. This is a one-time process; once you're verified you don't have to do it again.
We do this for two reasons: - It keeps RentNeighbors safer for owners who are handing valuable items to strangers. - It satisfies our payment processor's compliance requirements.
We never see your government ID directly — Stripe processes it and tells us yes/no. The image isn't stored on our servers.
