What is RentNeighbors?

RentNeighbors is a neighborhood tool and equipment rental marketplace. People near you list tools they own — pressure washers, drills, generators, ladders, lawn and garden equipment — and other neighbors rent them for the days they need them. Other household items are welcome too, but tools and equipment are the core of the marketplace.

The fastest way to get something you need is to post a request: describe the tool, pick your dates, and neighbors near you are notified. An owner responds with a listing and you book it through the normal rental flow.

The bet is simple: most people own tools they rarely use, and their neighbors would happily pay to borrow them. By keeping the exchange local, we cut shipping, build trust through face-to-face handoffs, and turn idle equipment into income. Payments run through Stripe, owners can require security deposits, and every renter completes identity verification before their first booking.

We're not a courier service or a national catalog. Every listing is anchored to a real address, and every rental is a face-to-face exchange. That constraint is the product.
