How do I respond to a request?

Open a nearby request, add a photo and price, and choose public or private.

Requests from neighbors appear in the Browse tab on the mobile app, and on the homepage and the /requests page on the web. If request alerts are on (the default), you also get a push or email notification when someone within your alert radius posts a request.

To respond, open the request and choose "Respond." You add a photo and a daily price — the title and category are prefilled from the request. Then choose visibility:

  • Public: the listing joins the marketplace and anyone can book it.
  • Private: only the requester can see and book it.

The requester is notified and can book your listing through the normal rental flow. You approve, meet for the handoff, and get paid exactly like any other rental — same platform fee, same payout process.

If your response was private and the rental completes, we ask whether you want to make the listing public so other neighbors can rent it too. You can decline and it stays private.

You control request alerts in Settings — a toggle and a radius, on by default at 10 miles.
