How should I price my listing?

When you create a listing, we suggest a daily price based on similar items nearby. The suggestion uses keyword overlap, condition similarity, and proximity — listings that look like yours, in your area, set the baseline.
Rules of thumb beyond the suggestion: - Tools and outdoor gear: 5-10% of replacement cost per day works for most categories - Electronics: 3-7% per day; lower if it's high-value - Party supplies / one-off items: price closer to break-even at 1-2 rentals
Higher prices get fewer bookings but bigger payouts. Lower prices fill your calendar and build review history. Most owners experiment over the first few weeks.
Set a security deposit for anything over ~$100 of value. It signals you're serious and gives you a cushion if something happens.
