What's a "request"?

Post what you need; nearby owners are notified and respond with listings.

A request is the primary way to get something you need on RentNeighbors. You describe the tool or item, your dates, an optional max daily price, and your location with a radius. Neighbors within their alert radius get a push or email notification that someone nearby needs the item, and they respond by creating a listing tailored to your request (public — added to the marketplace, or private — visible only to you). You book the response listing through the normal rental flow.

It's a way for the marketplace to surface latent demand. Owners who hadn't thought to list a particular tool see real people asking for it; renters who can't find what they need don't have to leave the platform.

Requests expire after 30 days or your listed end date, whichever comes first. You can close a request manually if you've found what you need elsewhere. Owners control request alerts (toggle + radius, on by default at 10 miles) in Settings.
