Is RentNeighbors free to use?
Free to browse and list. We take 15% of each rental.
Creating an account, browsing listings, posting listings, and messaging owners are all free. We only make money when a rental or sale goes through — at that point we take a 15% platform fee out of the owner's earnings.
A renter sees the listed price (e.g. $20/day). The owner sees their share after the platform fee (e.g. $17/day). The renter doesn't pay anything extra on top — the fee comes out of what the owner receives. Security deposits pass through 100% to the owner during the rental and refund 100% to the renter on check-out.
